What is involved in the Design Process?Some questions to consider:
How many windows are to be treated? What room(s) are the windows in? What sizes and shapes are they? What types of colors and patterns do you like? What is your décor? What is your vision for this room? And most importantly: What is your budget? Will the decision makers be present during the consultation? Knowing the answers to these questions will determine the best design solution for your windows. During our initial in-home consultation I will be considering: What will be the function of this treatment? Is privacy, light control, or movement required? Will blinds or shades be all that is needed? How about draperies and/or valances? Is motorization a possibility? After answering these questions, the fabric selection can begin! Knowing what a fabric will or won't do is crucial to the design of the treatment. The design must lend itself to the pattern, weight and texture of the fabric. Is the fabric too stiff, too soft, too heavy? How does it drape? Does it call for interlining? Will trims & tassels enhance the fabric? This is where my expertise comes in. I know the answers to all these questions, and they will help ME create something fabulous for YOU! What will your window fashion say about you? |
